 New for 2023-2024

As you know, the IOC has approved lacrosse for the 2028 Olympics. We could not be more excited!  The version of lacrosse that will be played in the Olympics is called SIXES.  Here are the basics of SIXES:

5 Field Players and 1 Goalie

All Field Players move up and down the field to play offense and defense (think basketball)

Face offs or Draws to start the period only.  The goalie self clears after all goals.

So, why play Sixes?

  • It's fast-paced and exciting. Sixes lacrosse is played on a smaller field with fewer players, which leads to a more open and fast-paced style of play. There is a lot of scoring and end-to-end action, which makes it a very exciting game to watch and play.
  • It's a great way to develop your skills. Sixes lacrosse forces players to be well-rounded and play both offense and defense. This can help players to develop their stick skills, shooting, and overall lacrosse knowledge.

So, as you can see this style of lacrosse is a great indoor version to play this year.  The skill sets are transferable to field lacrosse.  There's no extra equipment needed and there's now an avenue for advancement.
